UCF FILM MFA Student Laura Lopez Awarded A Production Scholarship

Laura Lopez, an student in UCF FILM's Entrepreneurial Digital Cinema MFA program, was awarded a $1500 production scholarship - the first of its kind - from the local chapter of Women in Film and Television to help support female filmmakers based in Florida.

Laura's film BAKER, has been shooting in and around Orlando this summer with actress Tovah Feldshuh. You can read more about it here, in a blog posting from the Orlando Sentinel.

Fest Update - Summer '07

Acceptances keep on rolling in for UCF FILM projects. The latest:

The 8th Annual Sacramento Film & Music Festival will be screening AMERICAN DELUXE, directed by Aaron Brownlee, and THE LONELY LIGHTS, THE COLOR OF LEMONS, directed by Ben Piety. UCF was one of only two schools to place two films in the excellent event. If you're interested in checking out the programming, visit them at http://www.sacfilm.com/.

Across our Northern border, AMERICAN DELUXE will screen Saturday, August 18th at 5PM in Montreal at Cinema du Parc as part of the YoungCuts Film Festival.

VideoProof Seeks Part Time Editors

The folks at VideoProof, based in downtown Orlando, are looking for Part Time Video Editors experienced in Final Cut pro, After Effects and Photoshop. They say "we mainly do corporate marketing videos 3 to 7 minutes in length. If you're looking for part time work, we can keep you pretty busy."

Need A Sound Mix

If you have a completed film from last year (2006 - 2007) and need a final sound mix, please let me know ASAP. You'll need to provide an OMF export of the audio and a quicktime of the project on a data DVD. After the mix, you'll have to add new credits to recognize the efforts of the mix team. No big deal, right?

My Eskimo Friend was accepted into Pencil Head's Dusk Til Dawn Film Fest 2007 in Houston, TX.
