Doorpost Film Project Wants Your Film

Another online fest wants your film...

The Doorpost Film Project is a contest for short films that has already begun and will culminate with a September 10-13 finalist film screening in Nashville. We're offering a grand prize package of $100,000 (USD) and an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles for the winner to meet with film developers and other industry professionals. The second place winner will receive $30,000 (USD) and the third place winner will receive $20,000 (USD). The grand prize is the largest ever for an online-based short film contest, making the Doorpost an unprecedented opportunity for filmmakers.

The Doorpost was created to recognize, honor and equip emerging filmmakers whose work explores themes central to life, its struggles and its ultimate purpose. We believe that there is profound meaning in the things we say and do, and that the human imagination comes from somewhere beyond our reason. It’s our desire to meet your needs as a filmmaker and see your imagination at work in film that opens hearts to possibility, wonder and truth – without resorting to common, formulaic expressions that only aim to manipulate emotions. So we’re giving you a canvas – bring the paint and show us what life looks like.

BTW - be sure to read the rules of Doorpost carefully. As far as I can tell, they require World Premier status for your short and if you win the first round, they require you to sign assign them all copyrights for your film.
