NextFrame Film Festival

Congratulations to Carla Tamma for being a finalist in the NextFrame film festival!

Her film Tranquila, Mi Amor (Be Still, My Love) became one of the final films in the festival's Experimental category.

NextFrame is the official film festival for the University Film and Video Association (UFVA), one of the largest organizations of academic and industry professionals within the United States.

The short played at Collorado College in Collorado Springs, CO and tells the story of
Alfonso, a young Mexican man, recounting childhood memories of the time when his closest friend, Felicia, stood in the wake of her mother's death. He remembers how, at that young age, they could not comprehend the situation, but somehow made amends this inescapable event. The bond Alfonso and Felicia form as young children is a symbol of the rebirth that occurs after death. This "starting again" blooms into their adulthood where the spirit of their connection outweighs the loss in their lives.
