Interns Needed for the Home Movie Archive

The Film Department is looking for students to intern for the UCF Home Movie Archive this Fall semester. As part of the Special Collections and University Archives Collection Department of UCF's Library, the Home Movie Archive collects 8mm, Super8, and 16mm home movies, captured mostly from the late 1940's through the end of the 1970's, which have cultural, historical, scientific, or artistic significance.

Interns for the UCF Home Movie Archive will be involved in all aspects of film preparation and preservation, with training in inspecting, handling, cleaning, splicing, repairing, and digitizing film stock. Interning for the archive provides students a rare opportunity to actively handle and manipulate film, with an emphasis on long-term care and damage prevention.

Prior film-handling experience is not required, but an active interest in film and an eye for detail is a must.
