Student PIRGs Activism Internships
So far this fall 100 students have gone through our training program. Interns across the country have organized events on their campuses from canned food drives to support local food banks to collecting hundreds of petitions to get National Geographic to clean up its paper mill to participating in a health care panel with the U.S. Secretary of the Department of Health & Human Services.
We're doing one more session of our fall civic engagement internships where students go through a 5-week training program to learn how to organize a campaign on campus and engage their peers on issues that matter to them. The deadline to apply is Monday 11/1 for University of Central Florida students.
We're also doing interviews for spring internships to begin in January. The deadline for early spring applications is December 1st.
If you want to make a difference and learn valuable skills, join our team
of interns and volunteers. We've got plans to take on the problems our
country faces - and with your help, we can win.

Home Movie Interns Needed
The UCF Home Movie Archive is looking for interns for the Spring semester. As part of the Special Collections and University Archives Collection Department of UCF's Library, the Home Movie Archive collects 8mm, Super8, and 16mm home movies, captured mostly from the late 1940's through the end of the 1970's, which have cultural, historical, scientific, or artistic significance.
Interns for the UCF Home Movie Archive will be involved in all aspects of film preparation and preservation, with training in inspecting, handling, cleaning, splicing, repairing, and digitizing film stock. Interning for the archive provides students a rare opportunity to actively handle and manipulate film, with an emphasis on long-term care and damage prevention.
Prior film-handling experience is not required, but an active interest in film and an eye for detail is a must.

Work on a Student Film!
Greetings from Erika Leonard (Director)
My film shoots this weekend, Oct. 6th-11th, and I still have to fill many crew positions.
If you are available to crew on ANY of these days, please e-mail me back before Tuesday night. It doesn’t matter if you can make every day, or only one afternoon -- just specify your availability in the e-mail. We will match up the schedule accordingly.
Currently many positions are open, including gaffer, boom operator, sound technician, and assistants in all areas. Make-up, costume and craft services would also be helpful. If you are interested in performing any specific task on set, or are interested in ONLY post-production work, please say so in your reply. Experience is preferred, but not required.
This is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic Director of Photography, Daniel Watkins, as well as a Meisner-trained actress, so please don’t hesitate to make yourself available! You will learn a lot and I know it’ll be a fun experience for everyone.
Thank you,
Erika Leonard (Director)
Side-note: If you know of any two-story houses that would be willing to let us shoot there during these dates, please let me know! (Even if you don't want to crew for my film, it would be a big help.)
Side-note 2: Also if you know of any actresses in the 30-50-years-old range, or who could pull off anything in that range, please let me know. We had one duck out at the last minute.

Location Needed..
Jon Reis, the producer of "Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving", a Capstone film directed by Yesenia Lima is searching for an apartment or condo to shoot a few scenes.
In the film, the two lead characters (early 30s couple) would be living in this location. They are shooting our film on October 20-23.
They need the location for two days: one day/evening in which the couple have an argument, and one day/evening in which the couple and some friends are hanging out.
The scenes will occur in the kitchen, living room, and dining room of the location.
If you believe you could help by offering your place as a location for their film, please contact me (407-968-3497 / jonreis@knights.ucf.edu) or the director Yesenia Lima (305-608-7338 / yesenia.lima@knights.ucf.edu) so they can set up a time and date to look at the location.
