FREE Panel Discussion

FREE panel discussion at 7pm on Wednesday, June 27th at Norwood Club. The discussion will be one of three in our summer talk series, "Film 2.0: The Digital (R)evolution," where we discuss the impact of the Internet on Film. This first panel discussion will feature writers from Moviemaker Magazine and Indiewire, who have written extensively about crowdfunding as well as filmmakers who have run successful campaigns. Icarus Films, a leading distributor of documentary films and
DVDs, is hiring a full-time Office & Operations Manager.

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate
will have had at least two years’ experience in a similar
environment.

The person we hire will be able to demonstrate facility with
detailed and organizationally demanding tasks, dedication to
meeting deadlines, sensitivity to intra-office work flow and
your customer-facing colleagues’ needs, as well as your own
concern for customer relations and customer satisfaction. In
short, a team member who will enjoy and get satisfaction
from making sure every aspect of our business process runs
smoothly, and efficiently,

Also useful: good computer skills, basic bookkeeping, able
to write a nice business letter, and a pleasant telephone
voice and manner.

This is a full-time position at our office in Brooklyn;
hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

UCF Films Featured in Summer Screening Series

StarLite Saturdays at the Garden Theatre in Winter Garden will feature microbudget movies all summer long, including three from UCF filmmakers:
On June 23 Film MFA student Zachary Beckler's short film Séance will play in front of Paranormal Activity. Note that Séance is a prequel to Zach's upcoming microbudget feature Interior.

On August 18 Film faculty member Andrew Gay's feature A Beautiful Belly will screen.

On September 1 Film MFA Alum Michael Diaz's feature The Miseducation of Simon Kraus will screen.
Other notable films in the series include Once, She's Gotta Have It, and Pi. All screenings have a $5 admission and begin at 7pm. If you believe you might like to see multiple films with friends, the $55 summer movie pass gives you three admissions to all 33 films being screened at the Garden Theatre this summer (a $495 value).
